The museum provides programming for school age students in a five-county area. Each year, the museum reaches an average of 15,000 students from K - university with its on-site and off-site programs. Students are introduced to Holocaust history and related events in an age-appropriate way and challenged to think about how they can make a difference each day in their own sphere of influence. The thing that makes the biggest impact on students is meeting a Holocaust survivor or WWII veteran - these are the people that lived the history in their text books and the museum often facilitates these programs. The museum also has the only 'traveling boxcar' - an authentic WWII-boxcar that makes its way to schools, churches, libraries and other community locations as part of the museum's overall education programs. The museum also offers professional development workshops to local educators (public, private and home school) in order to meet the state of Florida mandate to teach about the Holocaust.
