IN 2017, THE POVERELLO CENTER PROVIDED HEALTHY GROCERIES (ENOUGH TO CREATE ON AVERAGE 21 MEDICALLY TAILORED MEALS PER WEEK) 27,098 TIMES. THIS FOOD HELPED 2,623 PEOPLE WITH HIV DURING THE CALENDAR YEAR 2017. EACH ON AVERAGE RECEIVED 10.21 WEEKS' WORTH OF HEALTHY FOOD. THESE PARTICIPANTS WITH HIV ACHIEVED VIRAL SUPPRESSION AT A GREATER RATE THAN ANY OTHER FOOD PANTY PROGRAM IN THE NATION AT 88.31% OVER THE COURSE OF 2017, BESIDES THE 112 HEALTHY PANTRY, FRESH AND FROZEN ITEMS WE STOCK, WE PURCHASED 76 DIFFERENT TYPES OF HERBS, VEGTABLES AND FRUITS FOR PARTICIPANTS TO ENJOY. @EATWELL @HUNGERFIGHTER WWW.POVERELLO.ORG. EACH PARTICIPANT HAS ACCESS TO ONLINE OR MOBILE PHONE ORDERING OF THEIR CHOICE OF HEALTH GROCERIES. IN ADDITION TO THE FOOD RECEIVED, PARTICIPANTS ACCESSED COOKING CLASSES, INGREDIENT TASTINGS, RECIPES AND COOKING DEMONSTRATIONS TO LEARN HOW TO PREPARE THE FOODS PROVIDED IN A HEALTHY WAY. IN COORDINATION WITH THEIR MEDICAL PROVIDERS RECOMMENDATIONS FOR MEALS. UNDER OUR EXPANDED MISSION PROGRAMS FOR DIABETES, CANCER, CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE AND CONGESTIVE HEART FAILURE WE WERE ABLE TO SERVE 1,063 PERSONS WITH HEALTHY GROCERIES OF THEIR CHOICE FROM AMONG CURATED MEDICALLY TAILORED INGREDIENTS. FOOD RECOVERY EFFORTS RENDERED THE AMOUNT OF FOOD DONATED OT THE PROGRAM FROM LOCAL GROCERY STORES AND BAKERIES. THESE ITEMS WENT TOWARD HUNGER RELIEF EFFORTS IN DADE, BROWARD AND PALM BEACH COUNTIES. WE SERVED ON AVERAGE 390 HOMELESS INDIVIDUALS. OUR LIVEWELL CENTER EXPERIENCED GROWTH THROUGHOUT 2017 AS IT WAS OPENED ON SATURDAY AND MORE VOLUNTEER PROVIDERS WERE RECRUITED PROVIDING ACUPUNCTURE, CHIROPRACTIC, MASSAGE, REIKI, HAIRCUTS AND PERSONAL TRAINING, IN OUR FULLY APPOINTED FREE WEIGHT AND CIRCUIT TRAINING GYM. SERVICE UTILIZATION IN 2017 AVERAGED ABOUT 708 SERVICE ENCOUNTERS PER MONTH (27 PER DAY). @LIVEWELLSFL. THESE SERVICES ARE OPEN TO ANY OF OUR CLIENTS WHO WISH TO PARTICIPATE IN WELLNESS SERVICES.
