TRUANCY PREVENTION PROGRAMS INCLUDE CHECK, CONNECT, AND RESPECT (CCR) AS WELL AS THE SCHOOL ATTENDANCE REVIEW BOARD. CCR IS PRIMARILY FOCUSED ON ELEMENTARY AND JUNIOR HIGH STUDENTS WITH A GOAL OF ENCOURAGING STUDENTS TO UNDERSTAND THE IMPORTANCE OF STAYING IN SCHOOL AND COMPLETING THEIR EDUCATION. SARB IS A COMMUNITY BASED EFFORT TO BRING TOGETHER MULTIPLE RESOURCES TO ASSIST FAMILIES WITH ATTENDANCE, TRUANCY, AND BEHAVIOR ISSUES SO THAT STUDENTS WILL STAY IN SCHOOL, ATTEND SCHOOL REGULARLY, AND GRADUATE.PARENTING CLASSES OFFERED FOR PARENTS WITH CHILDREN 0-18 YEARS OLD. CLASSES INCLUDE PARENT PROJECT, NURTURING PARENTING, NURTURING SKILLS FOR FAMILIES, DARING TO THRIVE, AND MORE. ALL CLASSES FOCUS ON AGE APPROPRIATE ISSUES, INCLUDING CHILD DEVELOPMENT, DISCIPLINE, COMMUNICATION BETWEEN PARENT AND CHILD, ENGAGING IN THEIR CHILD'S EDUCATION, AND YOUTH INFLUENCES AMONG MANY OTHER TOPICS. CLASSES OFFERED FOR COUPLES AND FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH THE MAIN TOPIC OF BUILDING HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS IN THEIR LIVES. TOPICS INCLUDE STRESS MANAGEMENT, CONFLICT MANAGEMENT, COMMITMENT, AND MORE. HELPING ADULTS AND YOUTH ALIKE LEARN HOW TO DEVELOP HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS IN THEIR LIFE. ANTI-BULLYING CURRICULUM IS TAUGHT AT VARIOUS SCHOOL CLASSROOMS IN THE SANTA MARIA VALLEY TO ENCOURAGE POSITIVE INTERACTIONS BETWEEN STUDENTS AND TO ENCOURAGE STUDENTS TO STOP BULLYING BEFORE IT STARTS. OUR FOUNDATIONS FOR SUCCESS PROGRAM TARGETS STUDENTS IN FOSTER CARE. TEAMING UP WITH THE STUDENT AND THEIR STAKEHOLDERS TO ENCOURAGE SCHOOL ATTENDANCE, SCHOOL INVOLVEMENT, SETTING ACADEMIC GOALS, AND THE OVERALL ACHIEVEMENT OF HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION.STUDENTS IN TRANSITION TARGETS STUDENTS IN TRANSITIONAL HOUSING STATUSES. OUR PROGRAM SPECIALISTS WORK DIRECTLY WITH THE STUDENT IN ASSESSING THEIR SPECIFIC NEEDS DURING THEIR TRANSITION.
