Girls on the Run – DC is a character development program for girls in 3rd – 8th grade in all eight wards of Washington, DC, and Prince George's County that teaches social, emotional and physical well-being using a research-based curriculum. GOTR-DC has changed over 20,000 girls' lives since our founding in 2006. www.gotrdc.org

Girls on the Run-DC is a before-and after-school positive youth-development program serving 2,214 girls per year across all eight wards of the District and Prince George's County, MD. The goal of the program is for the girls to develop and improve competence, feel confidence in who they are, develop strength of character, respond to others and oneself with care and compassion, create positive connections with peers and adults, and make a meaningful contribution to community and society. 73% of girls in the program receive financial assistance from Girls on the Run-DC. In Spring 2015, Girls on the Run-DC served its 10,000th girl. The girls are empowered with the help of 1,401 volunteers a year.
