The Junior League of Lubbock's current focus is on improving the lives of the children of Lubbock and surrounding communities. Current projects include, but are not limited to, food 2 kids a project in association with the South Plains Food Bank and Lubbock Independent School District to provide food on Fridays to children who have been identified as being at risk for suffering from hunger during the weekend. Kids in the kitchen is a program initiated by Junior League associations from across the country to inform and educate families and children on the benefits of eating healthier. The goal being to reduce childhood obesity, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol.
