The artistic work of the american vicarious will not directly portray American society at any one time, in any one way. It will be specifically ambiguous, encourage a sense of timelessness and universal applicability. In this way, the american vicarious will attempt to portray what it sees as the universal conflicts and currents that drive American society, and the way those conflicts and currents have produced an American society that is both messy but also founded on common ideals of justice, freedom, and citizens responsibility. As the company was launched in mid-2018, much of the year was spent setting up the structure and internal systems of the organization. We produced a new play, Pushkin as a soft opening which ran for several weeks at the Sheen Center in New York City.
