SAGES Plays with Purpose: SAGES presented 12 performances of Denying Gravity, a Play with Purpose, to raise awareness on fall prevention within 3 counties, reaching 2800 people to date and,through the power of theater, motivating them into self-advocacy on fall prevention. SAGES Individual Awards: Two officers, Linda Goldman and Christine Hamacher, recognized with Innovation in Education awards for using theater to raise awarenesson Fall Prevention. Actress Patricia Morgan Mahan recognized with Community Theater Star award for her role in Denying Gravity. SAGES Regional Awards:Invitation to be a contributing member of the State Health Improvement Plan (PAW) and to participate as speakers in multiple Florida Council on Aging webinars. Recognition for collaborating with 2 Area Agencies on Aging, 10 Fire Rescue Departments and Pinellas 911 to successfully reduce emergency response calls to aid seniors who fell. SAGES National Recognition: SAGES was selected to present its innovative use of theater as education at the National Conference on Aging's Summer 2019 conference in Washington DC. SAGES Future Goals: A new Play with Purpose will be performed, Phoney Baloney, to raise awareness on scams that target seniors and strategies to stop them. Live performances of Denying Gravity will expand throughout the Tampa Bay Area and be available to communities throughout the country through our play kits.
