PROVIDER AND COMMUNITY EDUCATION: COMMUNITY OPIOID RESPONSE PROGRAM SINCE 2017, CCAHEC HAS BEEN AN AWARDEE FOR AN AMERICORPS STATE AND NATIONAL PROGRAM WITH SERVE COLORADO AND FOR AN AMERICORPS VISTA PROGRAM WITH THE CORPORATION FOR NATIONAL COMMUNITY SERVICE (CNCS). COLLECTIVELY THESE PROGRAMS ARE KNOWN AS THE COLORADO AMERICORPS COMMUNITY OPIOID RESPONSE PROGRAM (CORP). CORP SEEKS TO BUILD CAPACITY, EXPAND SCALE AND REACH, AND LEVERAGE RESOURCES TO BENEFIT COMMUNITIES ADDRESSING THE OPIOID CRISIS. MEMBERS ARE PLACED THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF COLORADO, WITH EMPHASIS ON COMMUNITIES WORKING TO ADDRESS THE OPIOID CRISIS WITHIN COMMUNITY-BASED COLLABORATIONS. THE PROGRAM SEEKS TO PLACE MEMBERS WITHIN ORGANIZATIONS THAT PROVIDE SERVICES TO LOW-INCOME POPULATIONS IN THE AREAS OF PREVENTION, INTERVENTION, TREATMENT, AND RECOVERY.CORP MEMBERS WORK WITH COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS TO HELP THEM BUILD CAPACITY. THEY STRENGTHEN, EXPAND, AND INCREASE THE REACH OF ORGANIZATIONS AND PROGRAMS BY WORKING ON PROJECTS IN COORDINATION WITH STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS. CORP MEMBERS ALSO FOCUS ON ENDING POVERTY AND BUILD CAPACITY FOR ORGANIZATIONS TO ADDRESS POVERTY LONG AFTER THE VISTAS ARE GONE. CORP MEMBERS DEVELOP SYSTEMS, RELATIONSHIPS, AND KNOWLEDGE WHICH THEY TRANSFER TO THE ORGANIZATION AND THE COMMUNITY TO SUSTAIN OVER THE LONG TERM.
