At JFCS, we believe in healing the world with loving kindness. Because mental health is essential to community health, we are committed to reducing the stigma of seeking mental health services, and offering person-centered therapy with effective strategies for coping and emotional healing. Our core general counseling services and trauma-informed therapy are available to Tucson's children, families and adults from all faiths, age and gender groups, ethnic and racial backgrounds—regardless of their ability to pay. We believe there is a path for healing and self-sufficiency for everyone who comes seeking help. COUNSELING SERVICES FOR ALLPERSON-CENTERED TRAUMA-INFORMED COUNSELING AND THERAPY - HELPS SUPPORT PEOPLE OF ALL AGES WHO STRUGGLE WITH ISSUES OF ANXIETY, DEPRESSION, TRAUMA, GRIEF, AND OTHER MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES. OUR MASTERS-LEVEL LICENSED CLINICIANS HELP PEOPLE LEARN COPING SKILLS AND REGAIN SELF-SUFFICIENCY. WE HELP PEOPLE FROM ALL WALKS OF LIFE REGARDLESS OF FAITH, AGE, RACE, GENDER IDENTITY, OR ETHNICITY. PROJECT SAFE PLACE - IS A HAVEN FOR HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED TRAUMA DUE TO ABUSE, NEGLECT, AND VIOLENCE. PROJECT SAFE PLACE ADDRESSES COPING, SAFETY, AND HEALING; VICTIMS BECOME SURVIVORS. JFCS IS THE ONLY AGENCY IN THE GREATER TUCSON AREA PROVIDING THIS LEVEL OF TRAUMA-INFORMED THERAPY AT NO COST FOR AS LONG AS NEEDED. FAMILY PRESERVATION PROGRAM - A PROGRAM FOR FAMILIES INVOLVED WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF CHILD SERVICES. EACH REFERRED FAMILY IS ASSIGNED TO A TREATMENT TEAM CONSISTING OF AN IN-HOME COUNSELOR AND AN IN-HOME FAMILY SUPPORT WORKER. THE FOCUS IS ON PRESERVING THE FAMILY UNIT BY TEACHING THE CAREGIVERS MORE ADAPTIVE COPING SKILLS AND PARENTING SKILLS, ASSISTING THE FAMILY WITH CONNECTING TO COMMUNITY RESOURCES, AS WELL AS HELPING THE FAMILY PROCESS PAST TRAUMA AND CURRENT PROBLEMS. SCHOOL-BASED SERVICES - JFCS PARTNERS WITH TUCSON HEBREW ACADEMY TO PROVIDE A LICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER ON-SITE TO SUPPORT THE STUDENTS, THEIR FAMILIES AND FACULTY.
