We are committed to ending the cycle of domestic violence and sexual assault with innovative prevention and intervention services. We define domestic violence as emotional, physical and sexual abuse, which includes control and coercion. Services include protecting victims, providing trauma-informed residential and outpatient treatment for survivors, and educating our community about healthy relationships.

Safe Embrace advocates and volunteers responded to 970 unique cases of domestic and/or sexual violence, and/or sex trafficking in Reno-Sparks. 128 female victims, 151 child victims, and 6 male victims were safely housed in our shelter, in motels, and in transitional housing apartments. A total of 37 pets were also housed last year with their owners. A total of 10,199 safe bed nights and 11,734 nutritious meals were provided at no cost to these victims of violence. 110 clients participated in 237 free individual therapeutic sessions. And, we sponsored support and education groups for victims and at-risk populations.
