Gage educates, enriches, and transforms our community through the visual arts. The Academy envisions a world where the visuals arts are valued as a vital human endeavor and knowledge, learning, and inspiration lead to artistic, personal, and societal growth. Gage offers instruction in the principles of drawing, painting, sculpting and printmaking. The school has two campuses in Capitol Hill and Georgetown and offers flexible class schedules with a variety of options ranging from weekend workshops to full-time study. Gage Academy of Art is celebrating nearly 30 years as a vibrant art school, featuring year-round programs, public art events, lectures, youth programming, and exhibitions.

ADULT PROGRAMS: THE BACKBONE OF ITS COMPREHENSIVE YEAR-ROUND PROGRAM OF ADULT INSTRUCTION IS FOUNDATIONAL ART; PAINTING, DRAWING SCULPTURE AND NEW MEDIA. GAGE PROGRAMS OFFER SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE INTERESTED IN ADVANCEMENT OF THEIR PERSONAL, TECHNICAL AND ARTISTIC GOALS. PROGRAMS FOR ADULTS FOCUS ON THE PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS OF ART, EXPLORING BOTH THE TECHNIQUES AND THE AESTHETIC ISSUES OF ART MAKING WITH A PROVEN FRAMEWORK TO ACCELERATE THE GROWTH OF ARTISTIC SKILLS. THIS INCLUDES THE DISTINGUISHED ATELIER PROGRAM. GAGE'S ATELIER PROGRAM HAS GROWN TO 7 PROGRAMS, BOTH FULL AND PART TIME. GEORGETOWN HOUSE 3 OF THE 7 ATELIER. IN ADDITION TO THE ATELIER PROGRAMS, GAGE OFFERS AN ANNUAL STUDIO ARTS INTENSIVE PROGRAM. THIS IS A YEAR-LONG PROGRAM WHICH PREPARES STUDENTS TO JUMP INTO THE PROFESSIONAL OR HIGHER ARTS EDUCATION PROGRAMS. THIS PROGRAM IS A VALUABLE PROGRAM FOR THE ARTS COMMUNITY. STUDIO ARTS INTENSIVE (SAI) IS ONE OF ONLY A FEW PROGRAMS IN THE COUNTRY THAT OFFER THIS CURRICULUM, AND AT A TRULY AFFORDABLE TUITION.
