Distribution of food to needy individuals and families in East Marion County, Oregon communities and surrounding rural areas.

About

SCFB distributes emergency food supplies with the objective of reducing hunger in communities in East Marion County, Oregon and surrounding areas. In FY 2018-19, we served an average of 370 households and 1,355 people(872 adults and 483 children) each month, a total of 4,435 households, 16,263 people. This was a 11.80% increase in households and 6.95% increase in people from the prior year. Recipients qualify based on income limits for the U.S. Department of Agricultures(USDA),the Emergency Food Assistance Program(TEFAP). We get USDA, Oregon Food Bank and Marion-Polk Food Share food donations; and food,cash,and service time donations from community members,local businesses,churches,schools, and civic organizations. SCFB uses the food donations and other purchased food to provide a 3-4 day supply of nutritionally-balanced food for each household who applies for assistance7
