RESCUED 423 PETS IN 2018 AND CARED FOR THEM AT OUR HALFWAY HOME KENNEL IN WEST LA AND OUR ST. BONNIE'S SANCTUARY IN CANYON COUNTRY. PLACED OVER 400 PETS IN NEW FOREVER HOMES.SAFETY NET PROGRAM. FOR 3 YEARS WE HAVE BEEN UNDER CONTRACT WITH THE LA COUNTY ANIMAL CONTROL TO OPERATE A SAFETY NET PROGRAM (INTERVENTION) IN LANCASTER, CA TO TRY TO PREVENT OWNERS FROM IMPOUNDING THEIR OWN PETS BY OFFERING THEM ALTERNATIVES. WE PROVIDE MEDICAL CARE, INCLUDING SOME SURGERIES, FOOD, SUPPLIES, TRAINING AND TEMPORARY BOARDING. WE ALSO ASSIST WITH IMPOUND FEES IF PET OWNERS DO NOT HAVE THE MEANS TO REDEEM THEIR OWN IMPOUNDED PETS. OVER 1,200 PETS WERE HELPED IN 2018. RECENTLY, WE HAVE JOINED LA COUNTY'S HOMELESS INCENTIVE PROGRAM BY PROVIDING FOOD, GROOMING, AND MEDICAL CARE TO PETS OF THE HOMELESS IN LANCASTER.WE OPERATE AN ANTELOPE VALLEY SPAY/NEUTER PROGRAM THAT ASSISTS PET OWNERS WITH THE STERILIZATION OF THEIR PETS BY PROVIDING VOUCHERS THAT COVER ALL COSTS OF SURGERY BEYOND THE FIRST $50. 680 PETS WERE STERILIZED THROUGH THIS PROGRAM IN 2018.
