We started Daffy in 2021 with a simple mission: to help people be more generous, more often.
Our vehicle was the donor-advised fund — one of the most powerful and underutilized tools in personal finance, and one we believed could become even more powerful with the best of technology and design behind it.
Most DAF providers stop at helping you fund the account. We didn’t. Our focus has always been on generosity itself, and it shapes everything we build. It's why we make it easy to set aside cash, stock, and crypto for charity. It's why members can rally friends and family around a cause and even match donations, invite their kids or grandkids into family giving decisions, or send a loved one a Daffy Gift — a digital charity gift card for any cause they choose.
Earlier this year, Daffy became one of the Top 10 donor-advised funds in the country and crossed $1 billion in charitable assets. But assets in a fund are only part of the story. The question that matters to us: Does Daffy help people give more, more often?
Today, we’re proud to share a milestone that gets at the heart of that question:
Daffy members have now recommended over 100,000 donations to charities across the country, representing more than $300 million distributed to organizations doing critical work.
That’s not just a number. It represents more than 100,000 individual decisions to give.
Where the Giving is Going
Those 100,000 donations have reached over 18,800 organizations across all 50 states, plus Puerto Rico, Guam, and Washington D.C., from single-classroom DonorsChoose projects to international disaster relief, from neighborhood food pantries to research hospitals.
Daffy members are supporting causes close to home alongside organizations working nationally and globally.

From $18 to $8 Million
The smallest donation on Daffy is $18. The largest single donation to date is $8 million. The median donation is $100.
That range tells the story of who Daffy members are: people at every stage of their giving journey, supporting causes at every scale. Giving isn’t reserved for a handful of major donors. It happens every day — supporting a child’s school, a place of worship, a local nonprofit, a friend’s fundraiser, or urgent relief efforts when crisis strikes close to home or abroad.
Unlike traditional DAFs that require $25,000 or more to open and minimum donations of $500, Daffy has no minimum contribution and a $18 minimum donation because generosity should be easy to act on, whether you want to give $18, $18,000, or $8 million.

Every Donation Has a Story
Numbers only go so far. At Daffy, we believe a donation is never just a transaction. Behind every donation is a cause that matters deeply to someone. Here are a few of the members behind these 100,000 donations, and why they decided to give in their own words:
Maggie Phillips, Daffy member since 2023, supports GiGi's Playhouse:
"This organization provides free therapeutic, educational, and career development programs to people with Down syndrome at no cost. Every program is thoughtfully designed to help participants build skills. Each playhouse is a beautiful brick-and-mortar facility that provides a place for the community to gather and inspires joy for families."
Tara Heindl, Daffy member since 2022, supports the Fox Valley Memory Project:
"I have been volunteering there since 2017 and this organization has a very special place in my heart. Their team works incredibly hard to support persons living with Dementia and their families to live a fulfilled and healthy life — providing support, free resources, activities to continue engagement, and much more."
Chris & Tiffany Colter, Daffy members since 2022, support Vision Ministries:
"In 2007, after my husband finished cancer treatment, we were left with no money, no food. We know what it is to be hungry. God has been faithful. We attend Redemption Church, and they support Vision Ministries. We heard about the break-in and want to help you help people in Toledo in need like we were for so many years. Keep sharing Jesus and being His hands and feet."
Eileen Lu, Daffy member since 2024, supports Patriots and Paws:
"Patriots & Paws combines two causes I'm passionate about — supporting veterans and pairing rescue dogs with vets. We discovered them when we were searching for an organization to pick up our gently loved furniture and household appliances — the pickup is free, though we always provide a cash donation to offset costs. We feel great knowing our furniture is being rehomed to veterans and their rescue dogs.”
KJ Hartnett, Daffy member since 2024, supports Dallas Hope Charities:
"Having friends disowned for being who they are, organizations such as Dallas Hope Charities are critical in helping LGBTQIA+ youth stay safe, and transition to a better life.”
Kevin Sink, Daffy member since 2025, supports Texas A&M Foundation
“There is no University like Texas A&M! It shaped us as young adults to be loyal, to work hard, to be honorable and part of something so much bigger than ourselves. I will always love the friends that became my brothers, the woman who became my wife, and the joy that although it changes, it was still a great place for my daughter who had the same experiences.”
Rekha Thomas, Daffy member since 2025, supports Eastside Legal Assistance Program:
"We support Eastside Legal Assistance Program because they operate on a simple, powerful belief: everyone deserves access to justice. Their staff and attorneys provide free civil legal help to thousands of people in King County, prioritizing people of color, LGBTQ+ community members, immigrant communities, women experiencing violence, people with disabilities, and low-income families."
Seth Harris, Daffy member since 2024, supports World Central Kitchen:
"We have been proud to support Chef José Andrés and World Central Kitchen in the past, and we are honored to be able to do so again. WCK shows up where they are needed most from Gaza to Jamaica and around the world when crisis strikes."
Heather Arentson, Daffy member since 2024, supports Wesley Woods Foundation:
"In honor of Mother's Day, Wesley Woods cares for a vulnerable population and meets a very big need in our community for compassionate and comprehensive senior care, regardless of financial situation."
100,000 Decisions to Give
It’s easy to focus on big numbers: assets, totals, milestones. But what matters more is what those numbers represent. Every one of these 100,000 donations started with a person deciding to set funds aside for charity, and then deciding to help an organization in need.
That’s what we set out to build in 2021: a product that makes generosity easier to act on.
Today, we’re celebrating 100,000 donations. But we’re even more excited about the road to a million individual donations. If you're one of the members behind these 100,000 donations, thank you. If you're not yet a member, we’d love to have you join us.
