About

MEMBERSHIP In addition, we launched a Law and Organizing Department, which worked with Chris Williams and Sheila Maddali to conduct organizing training for our staff and worker leaders in One Fair Wage campaign states. We also trained all our staff members on a new database, EveryAction, to better track membership growth and retention. In 2018, our Law and Organizing Department plus ROC chapter staff have helped file many unfair labor practice, EEOC, or wage board cases as well as providing know your rights training to hundreds of workers. In addition, we increased the number of RAISE restaurants to more than 850 by the end of the year. We began pilot consulting with 4 restaurants through our RAISE Training and Technical Assistance Firm. The program now includes informational materials and webinars and rapid response support from our Legal and Organizing Department, and has grown exponentially to include more than 400 restaurants and 13,000 consumers and restaurant workers. Our Raise work also include technical assistance and training by the Haas business school of Berkeley.
