LICADD's mission is to address the addictive climate of our times by providing initial attention and referral services to individuals, families, and children, through intervention, education and professional guidance to overcome the ravages of alcohol and other drug-related problems.

LICADD served more people in 2018 than ever before, providing substance use assessments, counseling, referrals and recovery support services to more than 12,000 Long Island residents impacted by addiction. LICADD provided 440 prevention education programs and reached over 25,000 people in classrooms, community centers, places of worship, professional conferences and public events. LICADD expanded its professional training catalog and provided continuing education units to over 4,400 professionals. LICADD also increased its services in the Suffolk County Riverhead and Yaphank jails, providing over 2,500 units of service to those incarcerated.
