Mission

Common Future advocates for power, choice, and ownership in communities to build more equitable and inclusive economies. Addressing economic inequality, which for us means directly addressing how systemic injustice affects people and communities in terms of race, gender, geography, and beyond. To create economies that truly work for everyone requires us not only to interrogate how wealth and power function, but to seek to change the rules alongside a network of leaders who are already proving what’s possible. Today, Common Future is taking greater responsibility in our role as a platform for bold ideas, organizer of capital, strategic advisor and collaborator to philanthropies and communities, and mainstream influencer

About

The Local Economy Fellowship unites leaders behind a vision to shift power to communities. Since 2011, weve convened community leaders from across the U.S. and Canada in a two-year cohort program to examine strategies for systems change that address wealth inequality and ecological extraction.
