About
Santa Cruz Breakers Academy (Breakers FC) participated in the US Soccer Development Academy program, NorCal Premier League and USLPDL as well as different tournaments year round. Nearly 200 players between the ages of U8-U23 participated in this year's programs. We have qualified professional coaches in our coaching staff as well as administrators and many volunteers that help the organization. The academy teams (U12-U19) and the PDL team (U23) traveled throughout the West Coast over the course of the season. Some trips were taken by bus (generally Southern California trips), while others required air travel (Seattle, Portland, Vancouver, Phoenix). Only one trip required the U17 and U19 teams to go to Florida by plane for the annual college showcase. The PDL traveled to Southern California only. Many of our players are regularly scouted by USSF scouts and college scouts who recruit them to play at the next level. The majority of our players move on to become student-athletes at 4-year universities. Many go on to play Division 1, 2 or 3 soccer, and others continue playing soccer at the community college level. College counseling and guidance is provided to the students and families throughout their academy experience. A few players move on to play professionally in USL Pro or MLS teams.
