UCANs mission is to stop the euthanasia of healthy and treatable homeless cats and dogs in local shelters in the Greater Cincinnati area. We accomplish that mission by operating a low-cost spay/neuter clinic that provides professional sterilization surgery for pets of low-income residents for low-cost (free to those who cannot afford anything) to prevent those pets from reproducing and to keep them healthy. UCAN performed 9,933 surgeries in 2019: 5,209 cat surgeries and 4,742 dog surgeries. The organization has now performed over 130,734 surgeries since opening in April 2007. These surgeries have prevented hundreds of thousands of unwanted cats and dogs from being born into abuse, neglect and ultimately facing euthanasia in overcrowded shelters. Continued on Schedule O
