About

Transitional jobs: The hallmark of Georgia Works! Programmatic offering is full-time, transitional employment. After a trial period, men are assigned to a 'Street Team'. Dressed in Georgia Works! uniforms, the men clean and care for the streets and sidewalks in and around downtown Atlanta. For their efforts on the 'Street Team', the trainees are paid $7.40 per hour by Georgia Works! for up to 30 hours of work in the community. Georgia Works! collaborates with numerous in-town neighborhood associations to provide program trainees with 'Street Team' job opportunities. After approximately four months on the 'Street Team', participants are eligible for a contract job opportunity with one of Georgia Works! corporate partners - currently, more than 30 Atlanta companies partner with the organization. Job opportunities range from maintenance work to skilled trades, depending upon the enrollee's skill set and interests. Participants continue to receive a stipend of $7.40 per hour, paid to them via Georgia Works!
