THE NDU FOUNDATION GENERATES SUPPORT, AWARENESS, AND FINANCIAL RESOURCES FOR AREAS NOT OTHERWISE FUNDED BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT FOR THE UNIVERSITY AND ITS MISSION AS THE PREMIER CENTER FOR JOINT PROFESSIONAL MILITARY EDUCATION. THIS INCLUDES FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR THE EDUCATIONAL INITIATIVES OF THE FIVE MAJOR COLLEGES AS WELL AS SPECIALIZED ACADEMIC COMPONENTS UNDER THE UNIVERSITY UMBRELLA. THE FOUNDATION'S FLAGSHIP ACADEMIC CHAIR, THE COLIN L. POWELL CHAIR FOR NATIONAL SECURITY LEADERSHIP, CHARACTER AND ETHICS, IMPRESSES UPON STUDENTS OF NDU THE IMPORTANCE OF LEADERSHIP IN GOVERNMENT FIRST ACCOMPLISHMENT AND THE ETHICAL RESPONSIBILITIES TO SUBORDINATES, PEERS, SUPERIORS AND THE AMERICAN PUBLIC.THE NDUF ALSO PLAYS A FUNDAMENTAL ROLE IN SUPPORTING THE INTERNATIONAL FELLOWS AT THE UNIVERSITY.
