The SC teacher of the year celebration is the largest statewide celebration of public education and its 700,000 students, 50,000 teachers and 1,200 schools. The culmination of an extensive partnership between SC Future Minds, The SC Department of Education, and The Center for Educator Recruitment Retention and Advancement. The event annually attracts hundreds of leaders in government, business and education to honor the best teachers from each of the 80-plus SC school districts. The two-day celebration includes an elegant dinner, followed the next day by the introduction of all district teachers of the year before the full state house and senate.
