Mission

New Vista School is a 501(c)(3), WASC accredited independent school serving the needs of Orange County students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in grades 6-12 and beyond. Our mission is to provide a structured, safe environment of academic, social, and transition skills instruction for students within the autism community. Our vision is to see each of our students overcome challenges related to ASD and become independent, well-adjusted adults. Our school is located in Laguna Hills, CA, which we purchased in 2006. New Vista School is the only school of its kind for students with high functioning autism in the region. Our focus is offering a cross curriculum that combines California State Core Curriculum with our research-based social skills program. Our students come from all over southern California, with the majority being residents of Orange County.

About

All program service expenses were expended in accomplishing the objectives stated in the description of the organization's mission. 82 students were served during the 2017-2018 school year. In our fist full year as a state certified nonpublic school, we serviced 7 students. We offered community-based internships and instruction through the New Vista Career Academy; made dual credit college courses available for upper grades; and aligned career pathway articulations with Orange County Department of Education.
