Mission

ANIMEALS EXISTS AS A FOOD BANK FOR ANIMALS AND A NO-KILL ADOPTION CENTER FOR WESTERN MONTANA.

About

ADOPTION CENTER: THE ADOPTION CENTER TAKES IN CATS WHO HAVE LOST THEIR HOMES AND WORKS TO FIND THEM A NEW HOME. THE CENTER HOUSES OVER 100 CATS OF ALL AGES, SIZES, AND BREEDS. ANIMEALS CHARGES A ONE-TIME ADOPTION FEE THAT INCLUDES SPAY/NEUTER, DE-WORMING, MICRO-CHIP, AND VACCINATIONS. ANIMEALS ACCEPTS ANY CAT IN IMMINENT DANGER. ANIMEALS IS THE ONLY AGENCY IN THE MISSOULA AREA THAT ACTIVELY RESCUES ANIMALS IN CRISIS. DURING 2018, ANIMEALS PERFORMED RESCUE OPERATIONS AND SUCCESSFULLY RESCUED 23 CATS IN CRISIS SITUATIONS. COMPLEMENTING THE RESCUE SERVICES, ANIMEALS PERFORMS TRAP-NEUTER-RELEASE SERVICES IN AREAS WHERE COMMUNITY CATS ARE IN NEED OF POPULATION CONTROL. IN ADDITION, ANIMEALS OPERATES A BARN CAT RELOCATION PROGRAM TO PROVIDE HOMES TO CATS THAT WOULD OTHERWISE BE PERPETUALLY HOMELESS. IN 2018 ANIMEALS TOOK IN 291 ANIMALS. OF THIS TOTAL 78 ANIMALS WERE TAKEN IN FROM OTHER SHELTERS, WHILE 9 ANIMALS WERE LATER RECLAIMED BY THEIR OWNERS. ADDITIONALLY, ANIMEALS WAS ABLE TO PLACE 202 CATS IN NEW HOMES. ANIMEALS ALSO MAINTAINS A "HONEY FUND" WHICH PROVIDES MONEY TO PEOPLE IN NEED WHO CANNOT AFFORD THEIR VETERINARY BILLS. TO RECEIVE ASSISTANCE, ANIMEALS ACCEPTS REFERRALS DIRECTLY FROM VETERINARIANS. DURING 2018, ANIMEALS SPENT $1,998 FROM THE HONEY FUND. THE DREAM IS TO BE ABLE TO ACQUIRE LAND TO BUILD A NEW SHELTER WHERE THE ORGANIZATION CAN MORE ADEQUATELY FULFILL THE NEEDS OF THE HOMELESS AND HUNGRY ANIMALS WE SERVE.
