Basics serves the greater Milwaukee area by providing meals, clothing, and materials donations to the less fortunate and by working with ex-offenders and parole officers to facilitate better assimilation back into society. Meals were served to over 4,500 disenfranchised individuals and homeless and over $90,000 in clothing and furniture was delivered to low-income or homeless individuals. Basics provided rehabilitation and start up support to ex-offenders and their families and also provided discipleship training to over 400 youth and adults.
About
Basics helped recruit, train and match mentors with mentees. We were able to 'pilot test' the 'bridge program' which helped men and women in job readiness. In addition, Basics helped with job placement for men and women, and also assisted with food, clothing, shelter, life skills training, etc. In addition, our prison ministry team visited over 1,000 inmates and interacted with several thousand individuals.
