Mission

The mission of DVHWC, aka the Sequim Free Clinic is to: * provide access to free quality health care to those who are medically underserved * provide education to promote wellness. The core values of the Sequim Free Clinic are: compassion, respect, integrity, commitment.

About

Clinic: The clinic operates an average of two nights each week providing free medical services, pharmaceuticals and dental services to walk-in clients who are under insured or otherwise unable to pay for medical and dental services from local providers in the community. Services are provided by a staff clinical director (RN) and volunteer doctors and nurses from the community who wish to help those in need. Diagnostic testing, xray, and blood work are performed pro-bono by the local hospital. Referrals are made where needed to local specialists who provide their services pro-bono. Five days each month, a chronic healthcare clinic is held for those clients identified in the walk-in clinic that need further help on a scheduled basis. This clinic is served by a local nurse practitioner who is only partially compensated for his time. During 2019, 691 patients were seen on a walk-in basis for basic urgent care and 390 were seen in the chronic care clinic. Of the walk-in patients 251 were new patients to the clinic, 75% had no insurance, 86% had no local MD, and 50% were unemployed.
