The Oped Project Public Knowledge Fund, Inc. targets and trains women experts in all fields, through seminars, workshops and other forums, to write for the op-ed pages of major print and online forums of public discourse. The Oped Project offers seminars that focus specifically on low-income women and other underrepresented groups. The seminars teach participants how to write, edit, and submit op-ed columns for publication with the goal of encouraging women and other underrepresented groups to engage in public discourse and increasing the levels of participation in public affairs. The Oped Project offers seminars which address the concepts of expertise, credibility, evidence, and framing. These seminars are offered regularly in major cities throughout the United States. The Oped Project waives seminar fees for participants who cannot afford to pay. The Oped Project also offers a mentor-editor program and a national, volunteer-based mentoring program.
