Mission

The purpose of this corporation shall be to help persons develop Christian personalities and to aid in building a Christian society through the improvement of physical, mental, social, moral and educational conditions of persons who participate in YMCA programs and the community served by this corporation.

About

Through grants and donations of over $40,000, the Le Mars Area Family YMCA was able to give out over $30,000 in scholarships for healthy living options so that no person would be turned away from the YMCA regardless of their ability to pay. Funding helps provide youth and adults with active and healthy opportunities. Our county has one of the state's highest childhood obesity levels, so the Le Mars YMCA hopes to provide many options to the community, especially youth, in order to curb this growing problem. Being the sole provider of healthy living options in the community, we believe it is necessary to examine all areas of healthy living and do as much as we possibly can to provide opportunities such as finding a healthier you, basketball, summer day camp and volleyball to name a few.
